A readiness for constructive co-operation was confirmed by Bill Dearing, president of NALFA, the North American Laminate Flooring Association, who was guest of honour at the EPLF‘s (European Producers of Laminate Flooring) spring conference in May.

Mr Dearing gave an insight into the structure and workings of NALFA and presented latest sales statistics from his member companies in the US. Both EPLF and NALFA recognised the importance of further development of laminate flooring products in the world market.

Other presentations at the conference included a report on the strong potential market for laminate flooring in Russia; the planned establishment of a CE mark for laminate flooring; and the dimensional stability of printed papers for flooring.

The new EPLF board of management was also confirmed. Ludger Schindler remains chairman and president with Martin Prager his deputy. Ralf Eisermann was elected treasurer.
