Fletcher Challenge Forests’ last forestry asset, Tarawera forest, has been sold to US timberland investor Hancock Natural Resource Group for NZ$165m.
Hancock is buying the right to cut one rotation from the 20,700ha Tarawera estate plus cutting rights to about 40,000ha from Kiwi Forests, part of the group that bought forestland from Fletcher two months ago.
