Fletcher Challenge Forests plans to spend NZ$2.5m expanding its Taupo plant.
An additional 21 full-time jobs will be created at the plant which produces solid timber mouldings for export to the US.
The mouldings will ultimately be sold by the two largest home improvement chains in the US, The Home Depot and Lowe’s.
Fletcher Challenge Forests rates its Taupo site as a world-class operation capable of competing in the US market.
