International forest policy and certification expert Dr Maharaj Muthoo will give Forest Certification Watch’s first “leadership interview” – a new monthly feature run by the organisation.
In the interview, which can be read at www.CertificationWatch.org, Dr Muthoo talks about the challenges and opportunities posed by certification in the developing world and in Asia; the roles of the International Tropical Timber Organisation, the Food and Agricultural Organisation and the World Bank in certification; and mutual recognition.
Dr Muthoo, the former executive director of the Forest Stewardship Council, will be one of the speakers at the 4th Certification Watch Conference in Québec City on September 25.
