UK forest management and environmental support services company fountains plc has won a contract to manage the 71,500-acre (28,935ha) Grasse River Forest in New York state.

GMO Renewable Resources selected fountains’ US subsidiary Fountain Forestry Incorporated to manage the forest, which it bought recently from Hancock Timber Resource Group.

The deal increases fountains’ US management base by 20%. It now looks after about 425,000 acres in the US and 625,000 acres worldwide.
