Long-established timber products manufacturer FW Mason & Sons Ltd has today gone into administration.
Administrators Andy Wood and Christopher White of The P&A Partnership, said the company, founded in 1929, had been hit by rising fuel costs, a lack of finance to modernise the business and loss of long-standing customers to the multiples.
Mr Wood confirmed that the administrators will carry on trading the business.
“There is a good core business and we believe that by continuing to trade we have the best chance of finding a buyer,” said Mr Wood.
FW Masons’ products include mouldings, panels cladding and decking.
The family business is based on a 12-acre site at Colwick, Nottingham.
