A timber frame solution was chosen for a Merseyside golf club restaurant extension after concrete and steel alternatives proved uninspiring and too expensive.

Brothers Steve and Phil McKie, who run Blundells Hill Golf Club, turned to Bakewell-based timber frame specialist Pinelog Ltd for advice.

Pinelog designed and built the “Four Winds” restaurant using a timber frame and glulam trussed rafters to give a vaulted ceiling and spacious interior. The frames support insulated timber exterior walls clad with rendered block work.

Steve said: “For £160,000 we have a superb, aesthetically appealing building, which blends in with our existing clubhouse perfectly.”
