The ruling follows the failure last year of the company’s first claim for A$6m damages from a series of individuals and groups for alleged sabotage and trespass of its logging sites.

Senator Bob Brown and Tasmanian Greens leader Peg Put were together awarded costs of A$69,385. A further defendant, Helen Gee, was awarded A$17,500.

Costs for other defendants, including the Wilderness Society, have not yet been decided.
