More than 212,000 acres of forest land in New England worth about US$100m is being sold by the Hancock Timber Resources Group.
The company is selling 14 parcels of forest in Vermont, New Hampshire, Maine and New York.
The sale has been promped by the poorly performing stock market which has left Hancock over-invested in forests.
