A 20,000-acre eucalyptus forest in Hawaii that is almost ready to be harvested is attracting interest from processing companies.
Tradewinds Forestry Products of Portland, Oregon, one of several interested parties, said it was confident in the viability of the project and wanted to get started.
The oldest stands might be cut down and processed into chips for paper, or the forests might be thinned so the remaining trees can grow to be used for veneer, plywood or lumber.
