Independent builders merchant Huws Gray is further expanding its engineered timber systems division with the opening of a 40,000ft2 production plant in Bangor.

The company said the investment was a commitment to providing a complete solution for timber frame, roof trusses, metal web joists and spandrel panels.

The new facility complements the existing timber engineering plant in Welshpool and will more than double the company’s operational capacity, creating local employment with production and design opportunities.

“We are very optimistic about the expansion of this division of the business,” said Osian Jones, area manager for Huws Gray Timber Engineering.

“We are confident that we can service any customers timber engineering requirements, by offering a complete solution that is fully managed in-house.”

The latest move follows acquisition of AC Roof Trusses in 2020 – now renamed Huws Gray Timber Engineering Welshpool.

Huws Gray Group covers over 105 branches nationwide with over 1,700 staff.
