An international congress, themed “Forests and wood – together for the future” is to be held alongside the fair which will cover issues in modern forestry work and technology.
The first keynote speaker at the congress will be Hermann Scheer, talking about the opportunities for bioenergy, especially for the renewable resource of wood in the primary economy.
Rudolf Freidhager, chairman of Europe’s largest forestry enterprise, will speak about the new organisational concept of his company.
Around 400 exhibitors from 15 countries are expected to take part in Interforst 2006 and around 45,000 trade visitors from 50 different countries are expected to attend.
