Papua New Guinea (PNG) is to receive US$473,000 from the International Tropical Timber Organisation (ITTO) to fund forest law enforcement.

A further US$105,000 will be made available to enable the country to undertake a forest inventory, with US$79,920 given to reforest tropical savannah grasslands with teak and US$54,500 for increasing the take-up of reduced impact logging.

The allocation of funds to PNG is part of an ITTO US$10.1m funding pot for new projects and activities to conserve forests and promote sustainable management.
