Illinois Tool Works (ITW) Inc has acquired Belgium-based construction software provider hsbCAD.
ITW Alpine, the US-based company’s UK business, said the acquisition strengthened its offering in the European timber fabrication market.
“It complements ITW Alpine’s structure analysis software for roof and floors and the Paslode Duofast range of nails, staples and modular tools for automated panel production,” said Paul Finnie, ITW Alpine UK general manager.
hsbCAD supplies computer-aided design and manufacturing software in the prefabricated building component manufacturing industry. It offers modules for timber frame, stick-frame, structural insulated panels (SIPs), roof and floor elements, as well as log home design.
“ITW’s vision of one building information model will help integrate architects and engineers, along with manufacturing and construction professionals, streamlining all labour and materials in the process,” said hsbCAD chief executive officer Karel Vinckier.
