James Jones & Sons Ltd is using Ecobuild to launch what it claims is a market first.
The new JJI-Stud, says the company, is the UK’s “first and only fully home-grown I-stud solution for the sustainable building professional”.
The new range, it adds, comprises both native timber for the flange and OSB for the web and at the show will feature in a mock-up wall display.
At the same event, James Jones is unveiling the SHI – the Service Hole I joist. This has been launched in response to forecasts that, to meet new environmental standards, new houses will have to be able to accommodate mechanical ventilation pipes and other large services within the fabric. The SHI is specially reinforced so larger diameter holes can be cut in the web without compromosing structural integrity.
