His appointment follows a reorganisation of the existing sales team.
"Our sales activities have traditionally been head office based, but the continued growth and expansion of our customer base has changed the emphasis of our sales activities and Mr Halpin’s appointment strengthens our field-based presence and focus," said Graham Blyth, senior manager – sales.
Mr Halpin has spent his entire working life in the timber trade, and his knowledge and experience would be of tremendous value in maintaining existing customers and developing the prospective customer base, he added.
As part of the reorganisation David Turnbull will now be responsible for sales in Scotland, while Neil Reekie will continue in a sales role based at James Jones’s head office in Larbert.
