Eight companies formed The Joinery Network with an aim to improve quality and standards through providing test data for timber windows and doors. The Network now supports 15 companies with training, advice and multiple licences to manufacture the new Lignum range of Document Q ready timber windows and doors.

“We’re really pleased to be providing licences for PAS 24:2016 certified products to such prestigious joinery manufacturers,” said Owen Dare of O T Dare Joinery Consultants.

“So far, we’ve released vertical sliding box sash windows, top and side swing flush casement and storm-proof windows, along with in and out opening single and double doors, French doors and bi-fold doors. Each joinery company has chosen a selection of licences for the products of their choice and is currently undergoing thorough training on how to manufacture to meet compliancy.”

The Joinery Network has invested in testing for PAS 24:2016 and approved Document Q for security, Part M for accessibility and BS 6375: 1 for weathertightness and thermal performance, to provide easy access for joiners to comply with Building Regulations

“Since receiving their certificates, orders for Lignum are already coming in for our customers, demonstrating that there is a demand out there for fully tested, superior timber windows and doors,” Mr. Owen added.
