Kevin Hayes, managing director of Nelss (UK) Ltd, was today appointed vice-president of The Timber Trade Federation. The appointment was unanimously agreed at the TTF’s governing board meeting.
Mr Hayes, whose 28-year career spans some of the most well-known companies in the timber trade, was delighted at the news.
“I am a strong supporter of the TTF and want to continue the excellent work of my predecessors in growing The Federation and the use of wood,” he said. “The strategy, agreed last year, to expand our work and influence, is going well. It is a tremendous honour to be able to give back something to the organisation that has served the industry and the companies in it, so well.”
TTF president Neil Donaldson said Mr Hayes brought a wealth of a wealth of experience and knowledge to the TTF. “He has given much already to the Federation through his chairmanship of the International Division and through his membership of the National Softwood Division. He is a great ambassador for our industry and I very much look forward to working with him during the second half of my presidency,” said Mr Donaldson.
David Dunmow, financial director of James Latham plc, has been appointed as treasurer.
