The Timber Packaging and Pallet Confederation (TIMCON) has announced the retirement of John Mead.
During 40 years in the industry, Mr Mead’s accomplishments included the role of chief executive of the Tilgate Group, TIMCON pallet section chairman and TIMCON president.
He addressed the FEFPEB Association and was appointed international director of the US association NWPCA. He also played a key role in forming the International Association of Pallet Recyclers.
The next chapter in Mr Mead’s career involved a role on the GKN Chep management board, followed by a senior role with Brambles Europe in which he ensured the supply of Chep pallets throughout the US.
Through his pallets standard work for TIMCON, Mr Mead was involved in both the European Standards committee and BSI, and became chairman of the ISO committee.
