Kingspan Off-Site’s TEK Building System is to be used in a project to create England’s first zero carbon community.

Kingspan Off-Site has been named as the main supply chain partner to Barratt Developments Bristol, which is to use the TEK system to build 200 homes at Hanham Hall as part of English Partnerships’ Carbon Challenge initiative.

Hanham Hall, a 6.6ha site near Bristol, was the first site identified under the Carbon Challenge and, as well as offering zero carbon affordable homes, will include a biomass combined heat and power plant that will provide energy to the homes, use rainwater capture systems and feature sustainable drainage.

Hanham Hall is designed to meet Level 6 of the Code for Sustainable Homes, which Kingspan Off-Site’s Lighthouse has also been designed to match.
