New Zealand’s log export sales are still running at record levels.

The country’s March quarter sales were up 4% on last year with Korea still a major purchaser – up 26% for March and 23% for the quarter over last year. This figure was three times greater than the level of exports to Japan which have dropped by 32%.

China continues to grow fast in percentage terms, but in real volume terms it is Korea that is behind the strong first quarter growth.

However, activity dropped off sharply in May with the World Cup being blamed for lack of sales.
