Riga-based Latvian birch plywood manufacturer Latvijas Finieris is celebrating its 20th anniversary.
The company, which incorporates several businesses including Riga Wood and Kohila Veneer (Estonia), has produced more than 4 million m³ of plywood products during its history – equivalent to about 100,000 trucks of plywood.
It has also grown 12 million birch seedlings and every year exports 95% of its production to more than 50 countries.
The group increased turnover and production by 20% and 5% respectively in 2011. Its share of the European birch plywood market remained stable at about 14%, while production totalled 206,000m³.
