Door manufacturer Leaderflush Shapland supplied 496 doorsets and 152 special head architraves for the Savoy Hotel’s £220m refurbishment.

Reardon Smith Architects specified art deco-style doors with applied mouldings in stained sycamore veneer to the corridor face of doors, with a painted finish to the room side.

Traditional style doors were finished in stained mahogany veneer to replicate a traditional joinery door. Special art deco architraves were stained and polished to replicate the originals made around 90 years ago.

Doorsets were specified to meet 60 minutes’ fire resistance and sound reduction levels of up to 40RwdB.
