Lumber prices increased 34% in the second quarter, according to Potlach Corporation.
The company, whose volumes grew by 9%, said profits from continuing operations were US$11.8m, compared to US$3.7m in the second quarter of 2009.
The Wood Products segment reported operating income of US$6m in the second quarter, compared with an operating loss of US$3m a year ago and operating income of US$5.2m in the first quarter.
The second quarter operating income was the highest reported since the fourth quarter of 2006.
