Select Bois et Placages of France has been appointed a “preferred European partner” by Weyerhaeuser to market its Lyptus brand eucalyptus veneer.
The range is based on FSC– and PEFC-certified timber and targeted at the furniture, panelling and door making sectors.
Weyerhaeuser European commercial director John Guerin said that the appointment of Select Bois formed part of its plans to “put a network of partners in place” to bring Lyptus to market in Europe.
Michel Guenard, managing director of Varney-based Select Bois, predicted a “strong future” for Lyptus given Weyerhaeuser’s ability to “guarantee sustainability of supply as well as the veneer source”.
