Makita (UK) Ltd has supplied power tools for a Channel 4 television series called “Demolition Day” to be screened next summer.

The Milton Keynes-based company provided a range of professional power tools and safe use training to contestants in the series produced by Anglia TV.

The hour-long programmes, filmed at the Construction Industry Training Board‘s centre in Norfolk, are designed to present the science and engineering know-how used in construction and demolition in a fun and exciting way.

Demolition Day will show two teams designing and building the strongest structure possible from a set of given materials. A typical task is to build a water tower from straw bales, timber and a plastic tank.

The first team to safely demolish their opponents’ structure wins the challenge.
