Marlows Timber Engineering has designed and supplied its biggest-ever “room in the roof” truss rafters for a private house in Epsom.

The company, based in Bury St Edmunds, used its specialist pressing equipment to make the trusses for the house’s annexe. The trusses measured 12.2m overall and provided usable room width of 8×2.45m high.

Overall truss height was constrained to 4m by transport requirements and a separate apex section was added on site to complete the roof shape.
