Award-winning architect and garden designer Barry Mayled used the material to create an energy efficient alternative to the traditional conservatory, and the showpiece Garden Room design won a bronze medal.
“Medite Exterior MDF offers fantastic flexibility from an architectural viewpoint and was perfect for the curved design of the structure,” said Mr Mayled.
The material was used in the seating, seating enclosure and perimeter fence of the Garden Room.
Mr Mayled said that through using Rockpanel wall insulation and Medite exterior cladding, the Garden Room used substantially less energy than an all-glass conservatory of similar dimensions.
