Metso Panelboard is to supply equipment for a new MDF production line in China.
Machinery for chip reclaiming, chip washing, fibre preparation, gluing and drying is being supplied to Anhui Asia Europe Wood Industrial Co Ltd (AEW) in Chuzhou, Anhui Province, for an undisclosed sum.
The line, which will produce thinboard from pine and poplar raw material, is scheduled for start-up in October 2004. The P50 Defibrator fibre preparation system will have a capacity of 16 tonnes per hour.
AEW, a Sino-Swiss joint venture company, has an annual thinboard capacity of 120,000m3, expected to rise to 300,000m3 in the next three to five years.
