Sash window hardware specialist Mighton Products has announced 25% sales increase for its Ecotilt Secure product for the fourth quarter of 2008, compared to the same period in 2007.
And sales for Mighton’s other products remain solid, according to managing director Mike Derham, who says he expects 2009 to be the company’s “most interesting and successful year”.
“Joinery manufacturers use our products to differentiate themselves from the ‘herd’ and win sales,” he said. “For example, interest in our Securibead and Secured by Design (SBD) kit (tested to BS 7950) has been dramatic, even before its official launch this month. Joiners can use this kit with windows of their own design to achieve SBD certification – a must for social housing specifiers.
Mr Derham maintains that success comes not from lowering prices to unprofitable levels, but from “offering unique products of interest to buyers, particularly those in the public sector”.
