A conference specifically designed for women working in the wood industries is being organised by Timber Development UK (TDUK) in September.

The Women in Timber event, to be held at Oulton Hall near Leeds, is dedicated to empowering women across the timber industry and will feature panel discussions sharing insights and experiences within the timber industry.

The September 5 event will also include an interactive workshop with a session aimed at developing skills, as well as networking opportunities.

One of the aims is to inspire women from personal journeys that highlight the challenges overcome and the paths to success within the timber industry.
This event will also support the Timber Trades’ Benevolent Society (TTBS), the UK’s dedicated charity for the timber industry, providing financial assistance and welfare support to individuals facing hardship.

Sponsors include TDUK, BSW Timber, James Jones & Sons, Timber Garden Buildings, TTJ, CDS Consulting, North West Timber Trade Association, and the North East Timber Trade Association.

The conference follows regular get togethers from a group of women in the timber industry and the TTJ Women in Timber special feature in 2023, highlighting personal stories of women working in the wood industries. A further feature will follow soon.
