A new consultancy has been set up to support the timber specification and supply chain in capitalising on new market opportunities.

ReThink is supported by The Timber Trade Federation (TTF) although has been set up as an independent operation, allowing non-TTF members access to the consultancy’s service.

Its services will include improving the integration of timber into sustainable design and construction, advice to organisations seeking to maximise their sustainability performance and exposure, plus consultancy on supply issues such as responsible sourcing.

“From new legislation on due digilence to changing requirements in sustainable construction, the prerequisites for the timber industry are increasing,” said ReThink sustainability director Stuart Harker.

“ReThink will help companies that don’t have the time or the expertise to deal with these issues.”

TTF head of sustainability Rachel Butler will direct operations at ReThink.

“Responsible procurement is becoming a requirement rather than nice to have and organisations need a little help avoiding the pitfalls,” she said.

ReThink has launched a website at www.rethinkconsultancy.com.
