A new Scottish roof truss and engineered floors business has launched with a strong order book from various customers throughout Scotland.

Kingdom Timber Engineering (KTE) Ltd has been set up by former Donaldson Timber Engineering managing directors George Watson and Brian Welsh, with Rembrand Timber Ltd being a third shareholder.

Rembrand’s involvement as Scotland’s largest independent timber merchant brings an existing customer base, as well as a significant sales force and depot network to the new company.

KTE will initially offer trussed rafters and easi-Joists using the Wolf Design software. Spandral panels and floor cassettes are also available now and other structural products will be introduced over the coming months.

“Although it is a difficult time for the industry, KTE will be a tightly controlled operation, and we will have the ability to expand when the market allows it,” said Mr Watson.

“As an owner managed business our core values will centre around customer service, and we will be able to react quickly and flexibly in the market place.”
