Sterling OSB 3 from Norbord has been used to create two unusual structures for the 10 Glens Mountain Bike Group at Glen Urquhart in the Scottish Highlands.
The boards were cut into triangles and then “stitched” together to create “Monie Domes” which the mountain bikers can either ride through or shelter in.
Forestry Commission Scotland forester John Ireland said: “We wanted to create something that was a bit different. The whole cycle park is about the good use of timber and the Sterling OSB 3 is not only an ideal roofing material but allowed us to continue the theme. Also, Norbord is a local manufacturer, so it was almost a case of taking the trees out of the forest and bringing them back again.”
