A new €1m, 3,385m2 rack warehouse was completed by primary contractor OHRA at Holzland Schyns in Siegburg, near Cologne.

The upper storage level is 6m high, while the rack arms are not bolted or welded to the stands – they are hung in place. This enables the arms to deflect if they are struck by a fork lift or goods, with the benefit of the arm and goods remaining undamaged.

OHRA undertook the complete planning of the new building, from first drawings to the static calculations. The project duration was seven months.

Schyns also has a 2,000m2 retail area and offers construction timber, flooring, timber summerhouses and wooden toys for sale.
