The Programme for the Endorsement of Forest Certification (PEFC) is to undertake a public consultation on the Danish system to ensure that it is doing the desired job to the correct international standards.

According to PEFC, the Danish system has been revised over the previous 12 months off the back of scientific research and practical experience relating to the country’s woodlands.

“Before PEFC decides on whether or not to re-endorse the Danish system, the public’s opinion is sought,” said PEFC secretary-general Ben Gunneberg.

The public consultation is due to last until October 20, with responses directed to the external assessor.
