The consultation period, which began on July 4, is part of a five-year revision and improvement process that all PEFC-endorsed certification schemes are put through, with contact details available via the PEFC website www.pefc.org.
In November 2005, PEFC withdrew its support of the Swiss Q-label scheme due to non-compliance to with international chain of custody rules – the provision of a publicly available certification report, a summary of the certification results and information from external parties being used as evidence in the forest certification process.
However, following a review of its practices and chain of custody processes, Q-label was re-certified by PEFC six months later.
