The SIRS was one of five roofing systems being tested by the national housebuilder, each designed to assess different modern methods of construction.
DTE designed and manufactured the SIRS components within a fortnight of being invited to take part in the trial at Persimmon‘s Irlam development in Manchester. The roof was erected on a standard two-storey detached house type within one day.
The job was the third project to use the SIRS system, launched at Interbuild earlier this year.
“We have had tremendous interest in the system since then, particularly from specifiers based in England, who welcome the speed of erection, with its consequent cost savings and the health and safety benefits it offers,” said DTE’s Mike Donaldson.
SIRS incorporates Finnforest FJI floor cassettes to provide a safe working platform.
