Pfleiderer has completed the €192m takeover of Kunz Group’s engineered wood business.
The acquisition, which gives Pfleiderer access to the laminated flooring market through Kunz subsidiary Uniboard Canada, follows approval from competition authorities.
Pfleiderer’s purchase involves Kunz’s chipboard plants at Ebersdorf and Gschwend, plus a minority shareholding in the Baruth MDF/HDF facility.
Ownership of Uniboard, which has nine plants in the US and Canada, makes Pfleiderer a major supplier of engineered woods in North America.
