A buoyant atmosphere with little trace of any economic crisis was perceived at leading Italian furniture industry supply exhibition SICAM, according to organisers.

The October 20-23 show – the International Exhibition of Components and Accessories for the Furniture Industry – in Pordenone attracted 18,000 visitors, with 26% from abroad. The majority came from Germany, Spain, Russia and the UK.

Organisers said exhibitor numbers totalled 530, covering 14,000m².

Companies exhibiting included Egger, Kronospan, Italy-based panel supplier Adriatimber, Greek panel and timber supplier Alfa Wood, fittings manufacturer Blum and veneer producer Dekodur.

The next show will take place on October 19-22 next year.
