Swedish sawmiller Rorvik Timber has posted a pre-tax loss of Skr163m for 2011 (2010: SKr155m loss).
The company said the timber market was suffering the worst crisis since the 1970s, with the industry’s export price index for sawn timber falling by 9% for pine and 5% for spruce.
The groups’s seven sawmills have a combined capacity of 950,000m³, though utilisation was 55% (510,000m³) in 2011.
Net sales amounted to SKr1.3bn (2010: SKr1.1bn).
