The revenues of Russia’s 25 largest forest products industry companies rose by 12.6% to Rb51.018bn in the first half of 2005.

The three largest companies are Ilim Pulp with a gain of Rb15.15bn – up 10.6% from results of the first on the same period in 2005; Mondi Business Paper Syktyvkarsky timber company with a gain of Rb7.148bn – up 14.7%; and Arkhangelsk pulp and paper mill with a gain of Rb4.83bn – up 19.2%.

The heaviest net losses among Russian forest products enterprises in the first half of 2005 were reported by the Sokolsky pulp and paper mill – Rb39.95m; Solombalsky wood processing mill – Rb39.36m and Pitkjaranta – Rb14.86m.

The fastest revenue growth among woodworking companies in the first half of 2005 were seen at Sveza – 71.15% to Rb1.698bn; Uvadrev Holding – 60.84% to Rb1.193bn; and Vologodskije lesopromyshlenniki – 52.89% to Rb1.269bn.

In the first half of 2005, plywood producer Sveza became the largest woodworking company in Russia.
