Specialist joiner and manufacturer S Taylor & Sons Ltd has invested in Consultec’s StairCon staircase design software.
The StairCon system is capable of providing price calculations and 3D visualisations of stair designs. It takes into account the material used, the product finish and shape to give an accurate estimate, and scale drawings with control links to 3-5 axis CNC machines.
S Taylor director Robert Taylor has found the package has helped to speed up the design and manufacturing process. “In the time it would take to create a floor plan, StairCon can create the entire model and send the CNC coding direct to the machine to be cut,” he said. “It also reduces errors, such as inaccurate measurements, saving both material wastage and time.”
