Timber company Treecorp is to set up a multi-million dollar sawmill on Kangaroo Island, south Australia.
Managing director Jim Whittam said harvesting of mature trees would start in June and that there were plans to increase timber plantations on the island.
Previous efforts to set up a forestry industry on the island have failed due to the cost of ferrying felled timber to the mainland.
