SCA Timber is investing £2.25m at its sawmill in Bollsta, Sweden.

New equipment is to be installed at the site’s grading mill and includes automatic sorting and upgraded cutting and packaging machinery.

The investment will also necessitate redundancies at the Bollsta mill, with 13 employees to be affected.

“This is an important investment that improves our efficiency and our competitiveness,” said sawmill manager Katarina Levin.

The investment follows last year’s SKr49m spent on X-ray scanning equipment, a new sawlog table and measurement equipment at the site.
