Scotline launches new ship MV Scot Isles in virtual ceremony

10 June 2021

Scotline’s latest ship the MV Scot Isles was launched in a virtual ceremony on June 4 at Royal Bodewes Shipyard in Groningen.

Scotline renamed the previous Scot Isles to Scot Bay in early 2021 in order to make way for the newbuild. Scot Isles is the fourth in the series of newbuilds from Royal Bodewes in recent years.

She is a sister to the Scot Carrier, Scot Explorer and Scot Ranger, with Ice Class 1A and enclosed bridge wings like the later vessels.

“We look forward to taking delivery in late July, all going well,” said the company.

“We hope she can join her sisters in the fleet for a busy summer period. Her addition to the fleet continues to show Scotline’s commitment to modern, reliable and environmentally-friendly tonnage and to offer the best and most reliable service to our customers.”
