The seminar was held in East Kilbride and included site visits to woodfuel installations already operating in North Lanarkshire.
“Scotland can learn from Sweden where biomass projects are already established and proving a viable means of sustainable energy supply,” said Trevor Blackburn, woodfuel information officer for Forestry Commission Scotland.
“A local market for clean, green heat is now a real option to save money and provide local jobs. I hope those attending the seminar will be encouraged by what they hear and actively consider new wood energy projects.”
