Timber pallet and packaging manufacturer Scott Group is expanding its Fasco workwear and tools business with the opening of an outlet in Stirling.

Fasco Extra is the first Fasco store which is open both to the trade and the general public.

Scott Group managing director John Scott, also the MD of Fasco, said he was looking to increase Fasco’s current £12m turnover to £20m within 18 months.

“We are taking a positive and bold step forward in what is a difficult economic climate,” he said. “We felt it was important to demonstrate our confidence in the company, products and staff with this new venture.”

The Stirling store stocks workwear brands including Helly Hansen, Regatta and Dickies, as well as Caterpillar and Doc Martens footwear.

Fasco already has trade-only stores in Grangemouth and Shetland.

The Scott Group took over the Fsco business in 2007 from entrepreneur John Quinn.

The group recorded a £100m turnover and £2.8m profit in the year to December 31, 2008. It said it was on the lookout for new acquisition possibilities.
