A partnership between Scotts of Thrapston and Wolf Systems has resulted in the launch of an engineered flooring system designed to capitalise on the move away from traditional floor joists.
The “easi-joist”, the result of heavy investment by Scotts in recent months, comes as the company gears up to supply major new housebuilding programmes in Northamptonshire, as well as increasing its business throughout the UK.
The easi-joist, comprising stress-graded solid parallel timber sections plated together with an engineered metal web, joins the growing ranks of engineered timber flooring systems which are increasingly being specified in the housebuilding industry.
Scotts said the product fitted well with its existing offering, which includes trussed rafters and bolted trusses, and made the company a one-stop-shop for customers.
Julia Berrie, Scotts’ marketing manager, said: “We are already recognised as being one of the UK’s major trussed rafter fabricators so the inclusion of easi-joist into our range seemed a natural progression.”
Scotts also supplies joinery, doors, summerhouses and pavilions.
