Pallet manufacturer Scott Timber Group is to close its Chapelhall site and has downsized its Huntingdon operation, as it looks to modernise its business.

Production in Grimsby is also being reviewed, the company said, with consultation currently taking place with staff.

The closure and cuts have been coupled with a £1m investment at the Rosyth and Barry sites to improve efficiency and quality, and the creation of a new office in Dunfermline handling business functions such as finance and purchasing.
